Participant Guidelines

There are no criteria or grades, only a voluntary exchange of ideas.

It's OK if you don't understand a single word. We know it's not your intelligence; it's your hearing. You're here to practice.

Everyone has something to contribute: what's worked for you, what hasn't worked, questions, answers, rehab resources, empathy.

Speak slowly and clearly with your mouth visible.

Pause intermittently when speaking so others can ask for a repeat without interrupting.

Don't interrupt. Need to comment? Indicate that and wait to be acknowledged.

It's OK to ask someone to repeat what they said.

Phone use for live transcribe is fine; please go into airplane mode or silence notifications.

What's said in the meeting, stays in the meeting.

If you book a spot, please show up; we need your participation! If you can't show up, please cancel so someone else can take your seat at the table.

This group is run by cochlear implant users for cochlear implant users. Moderators and coordinators are volunteers. We're all in the same boat, helping each other out.
